Estonia is one of the fastest growing countries in terms of IT solutions, software development and digitization. A VPS runs its own copy of an operating system, and customers have superuser-level access to that operating system instance, so they can install almost any software that runs on that OS. They are functionally equivalent to a dedicated physical server, and being software-defined, are able to be much more easily created and configured. They are priced much lower than an equivalent physical server. The information system of the company rarely needs the power of a physical server, and it makes no sense to pay for the entire server, if the load most of the time does not exceed 10%. A physical server rent can afford only large companies or businesses with a high level of income. But VPS can even rent a small company or organization, which has a small site, online shop or portal.
